Cactus K9s was started in 2021 after spending several hard years on the front lines of dog rescue—pulling, rehabbing and transporting dogs in/out of shelters in Texas, New Mexico, New York, Wisconsin, and Florida. We saw too many good dogs labeled “aggressive” and scheduled for behavioral euthanasia, not because they were bad, but because no one had the time, knowledge, or resources to turn them around. That experience is why rehabilitation is at the heart of everything we do.

We take on the toughest aggression cases—the ones other trainers have turned away—and we’ve brought hundreds of those dogs back from the brink. But we’re just as passionate about keeping dogs out of that situation in the first place. That’s why we also offer:

  • Puppy Foundation programs that set the stage for a calm, confident adult dog

  • Adolescent/“teenager” training for the dogs who suddenly forgot every rule they ever learned

  • Service-dog training tailored to your specific needs and lifestyle

  • Private one-on-one sessions for any behavior challenge, big or small

We’ve been matching dogs and their people successfully since 2021 because we train with a balanced approach: clear rules, fair corrections when needed, and a whole lot of positive reinforcement for the behaviors we want to see more of. Every dog is an individual, and every handler gets our straight-up, no-BS guidance so dog and handler leave us confident.
